It is Friday, October 23. The Ducks play at Illinois tomorrow, and after that the schedule turns back toward Autzen. Three home games remain on the 2026 slate, and each one is a different kind of Saturday: a homecoming that happens to land on Halloween, a visit from Michigan, and a Washington rivalry game on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We have written about game-day flowers in general. This is the date-by-date version, so you can plan the three that are left.
📅 The Remaining Home Games at a Glance
As the schedule stands today, these are the Ducks’ remaining home football games at Autzen Stadium:
- Saturday, October 31: Northwestern (Homecoming). Kickoff time had not been announced when we wrote this.
- Saturday, November 14: Michigan. Kickoff time had not been announced when we wrote this.
- Saturday, November 28: Washington. The rivalry game, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Kickoff time had not been announced when we wrote this.
The away dates in between are October 24 at Illinois (noon), November 7 at Ohio State and November 20 at Michigan State, which is a Friday game at 5:00 p.m. Those are watch-party days. One honest note: kickoff times and broadcast slots can change, and all three home games were still marked “to be announced” on the official Oregon football schedule when we wrote this, so check it before you commit to a time. The good news is that our advice below works whatever the kickoff turns out to be.
🎃 October 31: Homecoming on Halloween
This is the unusual one. A homecoming game on Halloween means alumni back in town, costumes in the stands, and a Saturday that stretches from tailgate to evening. It also means that for once, Halloween flowers and Ducks flowers belong in the same arrangement.
- For the tailgate host. Order for delivery on Friday, October 30. Saturday morning near Autzen is hard on everyone, with traffic and closures, and a centerpiece for the folding table is a Friday job.
- For a Halloween-and-Ducks table. Green and yellow is the starting point, with a touch of orange or deep burgundy for the holiday. Our Halloween flowers guide covers the dark blooms and pumpkin-vase ideas that fit.
- For visiting alumni and families. Homecoming weekend brings people back who have not been to Eugene in years. Flowers waiting in a guest room or at a hotel say “welcome back” better than anything else you can do for the price.
- Northwestern’s color is purple. A purple accent for a visiting friend is a nice gesture, and purple and green sit well together.
Later that night the clocks fall back, because daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1. After a Halloween Saturday, that extra hour is a good excuse for a slow Sunday morning and a vase of something fresh on the table.
💧 Flowers That Survive a Cold, Wet Tailgate
Eugene in late October and November is usually cool and damp, so it helps to choose sturdy flowers for anything that will be outdoors. Chrysanthemums are the classic fall workhorse, long-lasting and happy in cool weather, and we cover them in our mums guide. Carnations are another sturdy, long-lasting choice, and alstroemeria holds up well too. A few simple habits help:
- Keep arrangements inside, or in the car, until the last moment, especially on a freezing morning.
- Choose a heavy, stable container. Tall glass vases and a crowd of people do not mix.
- Keep it low and wide for a watch party, so no one has to watch the game around a vase.
- Wrap a hand-tied bouquet for the walk to the stadium, and plan to put it in water as soon as you arrive.
Our guide to how arrangements travel explains why the container matters so much.
🟡 November 14: Michigan Comes to Eugene
A Big Ten visitor from the Midwest turns the whole weekend into a hosting occasion. Fans fly in, friends and family come to town, and Eugene gets to be a good host. Michigan’s colors are maize and blue, so a yellow-and-blue arrangement for a visiting fan is the playful move, and our rivalry colors guide has the flower pairings.
- Do not wait for the kickoff time to order. If the time is still to be announced, order for Friday, November 13 anyway. A Friday delivery works for any kickoff.
- For out-of-town guests. If a friend or relative is staying in a guest room, a small arrangement beside the bed is a better welcome than a snack basket. If they are in a hotel, we can deliver there; see our guide to the 5th Street district and downtown hotels.
- Plan for the weather. Mid-November is when Eugene’s rain settles in. Our weather and flowers guide has the details.
The Michigan game also falls in the same week as Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, so if there is a veteran in your game-day circle, it is a good week to remember them.
🟣 November 28: Washington, the Day After Thanksgiving
This is the one that sets up a long weekend. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26. By Saturday the house is full of relatives, the refrigerator is full of leftovers, and everyone is ready to get out of the kitchen and into Autzen or in front of a screen. It is also the home finale on the schedule, and a rivalry game, which makes it the biggest hosting weekend of the three.
- Order early. The week of Thanksgiving is one of the busiest of the year for any florist. For a Saturday game, order your Friday, November 27 delivery as soon as you know the plan. We cover the whole holiday timeline in our Thanksgiving table flowers guide.
- Thank your host. If you spent Thursday at someone else’s table, send flowers to say thank you before the weekend ends. Our thank-you flowers page has options.
- Washington’s colors are purple and gold. Green, yellow and purple is a surprisingly good combination, so a combined arrangement can look beautiful, and it works as a peace offering for a mixed-allegiance household.
- Seniors and families. A home finale is often when programs honor their seniors, so if your family has a senior on the roster, flowers for the family are a thoughtful touch.
📦 How to Order for Game Weekends
- Tailgate hosts: order for Friday delivery.
- Watch-party hosts: order for Saturday morning delivery, before the game starts.
- Visiting fans and guests: order for Friday delivery to the hotel or guest address.
- Celebration or consolation: order after the game. We offer same-day delivery on Saturdays.
- Near the stadium: the streets around Autzen are affected by game-day closures and heavy traffic, so for any address nearby, Friday delivery is strongly recommended.
